Jun. 6th, 2005 03:28 pmI was working on my Romeo and Juliet essay when the call of "WHALES" assaulted my ears. We ran to the balcony, saw them flopping around in the ocean below us, so we ran to the car and drove down to Bar Beach for a closer look. As we got there, we saw one whale with its fin waving in the air above it, and the other happily frollicking in the waves. Then three jetskis bore down on them and the whales scarpered, so we went for a hike to another beach, met a bunch of other whalewatchers and all travelled together. By the time we reached the next beach the whales had gone pretty far away, but as we reached our viewing location they chose to throw themselves in the air and come splashing down once more, which was quite a treat. They soon passed out of view, but we were rewarded for our diligence by a pod of 15 dolphins which came swimming through the waves collecting fish. Overall it was quite a nice distraction from my schoolwork!
