1. Define home.
Home is wherever I wake up and recognise the room I've been sleeping in. I travel a lot, and I frequently refer to "going home" whenever we've been staying in somebody's house for a couple days. In order to differentiate between "homes," I have started talking about "home" (Newcastle) and "home home" (Kitchener), and my whole family's started following this.
2. What role does music play in your life?
When I'm listening to it, music is a background focus for my mind while I do something like code or write. When I'm playing, each piece is a challenge for me to master, and then it becomes fun and relaxing.
3. What's your favourite word?
I'm quite enamoured with calling people "bludgers" right now. It's so much cooler than saying someone's a slacker, and anyone not Australian won't understand it!
4. What's your impression of the fairer sex, on the whole?
They can make you feel like the best or worst person in the world with a single look. They're also too concerned with their looks.
5. What was the best moment of your life?
Hearing people scream after Andrew announced "DJ Josh" at the Halloween Dance two years ago.
Questions from Leslie:
1. If you could never speak english again, what language would you want to learn?
Finnish or Czech, it's a hard call. Finnish is so exotic and sounds really neat (puhu tekko anglantia?) Czech's got a WTF? element to it, and I'd love to read The Good Soldier Svejk in its native tongue (it's pronounced Shweik, if that's any indication of how cool it is.)
2. Would you rather lose your mind or be paralyzed from the neck down?
I love my mind. I also think people that are fully mobile, yet can't think properly, are far more taxing on those around them than a paralyzed person.
3. What is your favourite animal and why?
It's a toss-up between cats and koalas right now. Cats are a lot like "the fairer sex" (see Drew question 4), they can make you feel on top of the world or lower than dirt just by how they react to your presence in the room. Koalas are so cute; feeding one out of a syringe every week is such a wonderful experience.
4. If you knew you were going to die tommorow, what would you do today?
Distribute everything I own to people living on the street. Make a really, really, elaborate meal for someone else (as long as I'm not doing the dishes too.) That sort of thing.
5. What is your favourite shape?
Pentagon. I think a shape that looks like a house is really cool.
