Here, in Seattle

Boom. We flew in a couple days ago (13 hours split between Fiji->Honalulu and Honalulu->Vancouver, then 3 hours driving to Seattle), we're spending 3 days staying with my grandma before finally heading home (another 4 hour plane trip to Toronto, I believe?) First meal in Canada? Tim Horton's chili combo with a Boston Cream donut. It was weird to hear all the flat accents in the airport, and see every sign in two languages. I haven't seen products like "Windshield De-Icer" for a long time, too!

In other news, I sent off postcards for rossman231, eljhika, exophase and uh... someone else :< gamurgurl? I forget. Anyways, they all went out last Sunday and I know that at least exophase received his, and liked it. Two for two so far!

I'll have a follow-up post to this sometime later today/this week (when I have an internet connection back in Kitchener, we're waiting for an eBay auction to finish so we can buy a modem and then sign up for the high-speed service which will take time to be installed and blah blah blah). The subject of the post will be impressions of Canada/USA after a year being a stranger in a strange land. Or something. I know you can hardly wait.

The best part is that I spent the majority of my time in Fiji either:

• Reading (Mexico Set and London Match by Len Deighton (A++++ would read again))


• Snorkelling/Diving (A+++++ would dive again)


• Coding (I was extremely productive on a variety of different projects!)

All in all it was a great success, especially as I sat in the open-air bar, 10 metres from the beach, with the laptop on the table, playing around in CodeBlocks. I love my life.

yeah... average time for international post is about one week i find, often two for the US, and four for Russia. The postal system must just dislike you, Sa :P

no my mail lady hates my drive way......she likes to take a cab to deliver the mail. 8excuse me for haveing a 90 foot driveway....give or take.

plus they're digging up the main road needed to get to my private road, its a one way street. w/e. she's just a lazy one. in my opppinion get paid to walk somewhere you walk there. ill give her a cab...

that's all right. i don't HAVE a letterbox at home... due to not being on a council road. therefore our letters don't get delivered, we have to pick them up from the post office.

if she has to come right up your driveway... then you have a door slot? that's why we use letterboxes. makes life easier for everyone, except for those of us who don't own our private road and thus can't put a letterbox on it.

we have a letter slot and a mail box, she's just lazy. really, she takes a freaking cab. so does the damn newspaper boy. frick! people are summin. i really love how even after the paper boy gets his ride up the road he still can't be bothered to go up our front steps and put the damn paper in the little holder dealy, instead he wedges in the bottom of the railing. even if we're on the porch, he wedges it there, nvm hanidng it too us, no, he wedges in the damn railing. little.....guh.
